The MILLET grain wagon from era V-VI faithfully reproduces a modern silo wagon used for transporting bulk grain and agricultural products on European railway networks. This Z scale AZAR MODELS model is distinguished by its detailed reproduction, featuring a finely painted injection-molded plastic body and high-precision pad-printed markings.
It is equipped with the Magnetiz® coupling system, an innovation developed by AZAR MODELS specifically for Z scale. Thanks to the use of neodymium micro-magnets, this coupling offers a reliable and robust magnetic connection while remaining discreet. Its ultra-compact design reduces the spacing between cars to improve the realism of train sets.
The system also incorporates a clip fastening that allows for easy removal of the coupler when not in use, for example, at the front of a locomotive. Each wagon has a magnet oriented "North" on one side and "South" on the other, allowing for easy reversal of the wagon's orientation within a train by swapping the couplers. The clip system also allows the magnetic coupler to be replaced with a traditional hook coupler to ensure full compatibility with existing rolling stock. The hook coupler is included in the box.
The burnished metal axles enhance the realism and running quality of the model. This wagon is ideal for creating modern agricultural freight trains representing European rail traffic from eras V to VI .
In reality, these bogie-equipped silo wagons have a longitudinal tank with curved sides fitted with several gravity-fed unloading hoppers. Widely used since the 1960s and 1970s, they transport cereals, oilseeds, and processed products for agricultural cooperatives and food processing industries throughout Europe.
