The "Arlberg-Express" was one of those evocatively named trains whose introduction dates back to the era of transcontinental luxury trains. Unlike its siblings, the "Orient-Express" and "Oostende-Express", it crossed the whole of Austria from west to east.
Over time, the train increasingly transformed into an international service with long-distance carriages. Besides the main Vienna-Paris train, it included numerous intercity carriages, for example, to the Salzkammergut region or from there to Salzburg, where they departed from the main train. There were also intercity carriages from Vienna to Carinthia and East Tyrol, which were routed from Schwarzach-St. Veit via the Tauernbahn railway.
Depending on the composition, the sets offered allow you to reproduce the train in the different configurations Vienna - Salzburg - Schwarzach St. Veit - Innsbruck - Buchs.
