ESU SwitchPilot V3 Plus accessory decoder ref. 51831 for HO layouts operating on 2-rail DCC/MM. It features 8 magnetic outputs, multi-protocol DCC or Motorola® operation and an OLED screen with buttons for adjustment.
Characteristic :
Brand: Esu
Ref: 51831
Scale: HO
> Operation: 2 DCC/MM rails
Description:
> 8 magnetic outputs (for point motors or other devices) with 1.5A per output (2.5A for 100ms).
> DCC or Motorola® mode
> Special mode for Peco motors
The SwitchPilot 3 Plus decoders are optimized for stationary use on your system and can switch conventional dual-coil switch controls, light signals, magnetic decouplers, light bulbs, or other stationary loads. To simplify the often cumbersome setup of magnetic item decoders, the SwitchPilot 3 Plus features an innovative operating concept consisting of a backlit 4-line OLED display and three input buttons.
The modes:
The SwitchPilot 3 Plus is multi-protocol and can be used with control panels based on the Märklin® Motorola® system (e.g., 6021, Central Station®, or Mobile Station®) as well as with DCC-compatible control panels. Configuration can be performed on both the main track and the programming track. Thanks to RailCom®, CVs can also be read.
Functioning :
The SwitchPilot 3 Plus can be powered directly from the digital system or from an external DC power source or switch. It has a total of 16 transistor outputs, grouped into 8 pairs of outputs 1 through 8. Each pair of outputs contains two outputs (OutA and OutB) and can be individually configured for the desired application: In pulse mode, the output turns on as soon as a switching command is received. Since the output automatically turns off once a time stored in the decoder is reached, burning of magnetic items is prevented. Currently (K83 compatible), the output remains active as long as the control panel button is pressed. This operating mode is suitable for turnout motors with a permanent stop or for decapsulating. In bistable continuous operation (K84 compatible), both outputs are switched on and off: Pressing the first (red) button on the control panel activates the Out A output. It remains active until pressing the assigned (green) button activates Out B of the same output group. Out A and Out B behave like a switch. In alternating flashing mode, Out A and Out B of a pair of outputs are activated alternately with an adjustable flashing frequency. The change indicator is started with the "Green/Green" command of the assigned button and stopped again with the "Red/Branching" command. Optionally, the output can also be slowly dimmed and faded (called "zoom" for incandescent lamp simulation).
Setting:
The SwitchPilot 3 Plus can be flexibly adjusted either on the programming track with DCC control panels, or on the main track with POM ("Programming on Main"), or it can also be read via RailCom® CVs. Upon request, it can also learn addresses directly via a programming button. Adjustment is, of course, easiest with the integrated OLED displays and three input buttons: all settings can be checked directly on the decoder and changed as needed. No "programming" with the help of your headquarters is required. It really couldn't be easier. The ESU LokProgrammer can be used for firmware updates.
Protection:
As with our locomotive decoders, the SwitchPilot 3's outputs are extensively protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
