Train number detection
The new ECoSDetector RC can monitor its four track sectors in a unique way: using RailCom® technology ("local detector"), it can not only determine if the track is occupied but also precisely which train is on it (address detection). Of course, you will need RailCom®-compatible locomotive decoders.

Clever
Knowing which train is where leads to new functions in conjunction with the ECoS route planning function: you can, for example, automatically activate level crossing ramps or have the train search for an unoccupied track in the storage yard. The switching inputs and track occupancy sensors are electronically controlled to ensure reliable feedback even in the event of poor contact or dirty tracks.

Connecting to ECoSlink
Each ECoSDetector RC is directly wired to the control unit via the EcoSlink bus. In addition to the ECoS control station, all Central Station® Reloaded models with ESU updates are compatible. Galvanic isolation of the bus system and the control station ensures maximum reliability and optimal data transfer to the control station. The control station automatically detects and registers all ECoSDetector modules. Devices can be conveniently and easily configured using the control station, even after installation.

Time-tested
The operating software of each ECoSDetector can be updated and extended to facilitate additional functions, if needed: whenever necessary, this update will be performed automatically by the control unit. This ensures your ECoSDetector is always technically up to date.
