The LokPilot 5 DCC is the "twin brother" of the LokPilot 5. The two share almost all features; however, the LokPilot 5 DCC is a pure DCC decoder and cannot be used on analog AC systems. This lack of flexibility is offset by a lower price.
LokPilot 5 decoders are available with all common interfaces.
Fashions
The LokPilot 5 DCC is a purebred DCC decoder. Speed steps from 14 to 128 are as intuitive as 2- and 4-digit addresses. Up to 32 functions can be activated. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders automatically register with a compatible DCC system such as the ESU CabControl.
The decoder accepts all DCC programming modes, and thanks to RailCom®, CV values can be read on the main track with RailCom-equipped DCC systems. For control stations that only program CVs, auxiliary CV registers from 1 to 255 are available.
The LokPilot 5 DCC decoder recognizes Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU/ZACK controls or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with DC voltage is also possible. It can also stop with a Selectrix® brake diode. An automatic ABC shuttle allows for shuttling between two stations.
The LokPilot 5 DCC decoder can be used on analog DC trains. The maximum speed can be set separately.
The decoder switches between operating modes fully automatically "on the fly".
Features :
We know you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. Therefore, we've packed the LokPilot 5 with function outputs. Depending on the interface version, each LokPilot 5 decoder offers at least 10 amplified function outputs, each with an output current of 250 mA. In versions with the PluX22 or 21MTC interface, 4 additional outputs are included for controlling servos or logic level outputs. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted independently. The decoder supports automatic pressing and unpressing when disconnecting ROCO®, Krois®, and Telex® couplers.
Motor Control:
The LokPilot 5's motor control has been fundamentally improved. An adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures ultra-quiet operation, especially with bell-type motors – the typical "buzz" is a thing of the past. Load control can now be adapted to demanding applications with up to 10 hp. The unique "Autotune" function allows the decoder to automatically calibrate itself to the motor. With a motor current of up to 1.5 A, the LokPilot 5 decoder provides ample power, even for older motors.
Upon request, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 to fill dirty rail sections.
Of course, all function outputs and the motor output are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
