The Mobile Control Pro is ESU's latest solution for combining the advantages of smartphone technology with the demands of model train control. It's a compact Android tablet equipped with controls for operating your locomotives and accessories. Connection to the digital control unit is exclusively wireless, via Wi-Fi. A specially designed ESU app allows direct communication with various digital control units. Therefore, the Mobile Control Pro's use is not limited to ESU control units.
It can be used with most control units, such as the ECoS®, CS1-r, Märklin® Central Station® 3, Roco® Z21, Yamorc®, Digitrax® LNWI, Uhlenbrock® Intellibox® Neo, WiFiTrax Cab Bus WiFi Interface for NCE® or MRC® Prodigi WiFi Interface...

Open platform

Based on Android 10, the Mobile Control Pro is as easy to use as a smartphone or tablet. Thanks to its high-resolution color touchscreen, the operating system ensures intuitive and standardized operation. The Mobile Control Pro is equipped with a powerful quad-core ARM processor and ample memory for storing numerous applications. The integrated radio module supports common Wi-Fi standards in the 2.4 GHz band as well as the well-known Bluetooth standards. Thanks to the standardized radio interface, your model railway always operates optimally. Wi-Fi repeaters allow you to easily extend the radio range if needed.

The built-in lithium-polymer battery, easily replaceable if needed, provides approximately five to six hours of battery life. The Mobile Control Pro recharges via its integrated USB-C port. You can use any USB-C cable to recharge it, such as a USB wall outlet, a USB charging adapter, or a computer's USB port.

Thanks to the pre-installed Aurora app store, you can install additional Android apps at any time. No Google account is required.

Ergonomics

From the moment you pick up the Mobile Control Pro, you'll immediately notice its excellent ergonomics. All the controls are within easy reach, and the most important functions are accessible even without looking, allowing you to keep a close eye on your layout and trains. This is made possible by the central motorized rotary control with a stop. It allows you to precisely adjust the locomotive's speed and reverse its direction. Programmable buttons (two on the left and two on the right) enable various functions. They can be used as an alternative to the touchscreen. A key feature: the slider, located on the right side, acts as a brake. Thanks to this analog control element, you can now precisely stop locomotives equipped with LokSound 5 decoders, for even more realistic control.

ESU

The Mobile Control Pro is fully compatible with ECoS and CabControl digital control units. The control unit synchronizes all data with the wireless remote, eliminating the need for local input. Correct names, addresses, and symbols for accessories and routes are also displayed. All information entered into the ESU control unit is automatically transferred and synchronized. Up to 16 Mobile Control Pro devices can be used.

WiThrottle™

That's not all! The Mobile Control Pro app also connects to all digital control units equipped with a WiThrottle™ server. This allows you to use Mobile Control Pro with a Uhlenbrock Intellibox Neo, a Digitrax® control unit with an LNWI module, or an NCE control unit with a WifiTrax WLAN adapter. MRC/Gaugemaster control units with a WiFi adapter or YaMoRC® control units are also included. Depending on the WiThrottle™ server features of the aforementioned control units, the locomotive fleet can be used directly or created manually in Mobile Control Pro.

Z21®

The Mobile Control Pro can also connect directly to ROCO Z21® control units. However, all locomotives must be created and managed locally on the Mobile Control Pro. Unfortunately, the Z21® does not have a centrally managed locomotive database.

Märklin® 3® Central Station

Owners of a Märklin® Central Station 3® can also use Mobile Control Pro. The app provides direct access to all locomotives in the Central Station and displays the locomotive icons and images exactly as they appear on the Central Station.

Locomotive control

The Mobile Control Pro allows you to control locomotives. Depending on the capabilities of the connected DCC command station, all relevant data is retrieved and used from the command station, where possible. All essential locomotive characteristics, such as name, symbol, assignment, and function key symbols, can be displayed and modified as needed. Up to 31 function keys can be activated per locomotive, individually configurable as latching or return-to-use functions.

Accessories for solenoid motors

Switching solenoid accessories is also possible, depending on the control unit. With an ECoS control unit, all solenoid accessories and channels of the interlocking system can be switched. Naturally, the distinction between two-, three-, and four-sided solenoid accessories is fully maintained, and the corresponding symbol is displayed on the screen.

Smart connection

The Mobile Control Pro uses Wi-Fi to communicate with the control panel. Therefore, the control panel must be connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you already have a Wi-Fi router (e.g., AVM® Fritz!Box®), you can easily connect the ECoS control panel to it. If you prefer not to connect your network to your home network or if you want to maintain flexibility for exhibitions, no problem. Upon request, we can provide a mini access point for the Mobile Control Pro, which is easy to configure in just a few steps using the ECoS. Other control panels, such as the ESU CabControl or the Intellibox Neo, already have integrated Wi-Fi; in this case, you can connect the remote control directly to the Wi-Fi network provided by these control panels.

Future-proof

ESU is constantly developing the Mobile Control Pro application. New versions can be transferred to the remote control via your Windows® computer or installed automatically, provided that the Mobile Control Pro is connected to the Internet.
