If your train network is expanding and you need additional ECoSBoost boosters and ECoSDetector return modules to connect to your ECoS control station, and you are running out of connectors, you should purchase the ECoSlink terminal.
More space
The ECoSlink terminal connects to the ECoS or central station® via the supplied bus cable to the "extend" connector. It features two connectors on the front panel for manual controls (e.g., the mobile station®) and four connectors on the rear panel for devices mounted below the network. These are primarily the ECoSBoost and ECoSDetector return modules.
The ECoSlink terminal can power all connected devices either from the ECoS power supply or, for a specific section, from an external power supply via the ECoSlink itself. This is particularly useful for large systems with numerous manual controls, boosters, and feedback modules.
More distance
If multiple ECoSlink terminals are used, they can be connected to each other with standard Ethernet patch cables with RJ45 connectors. These patch cables can be purchased in any length from any computer store.
More organization
Each ECoSlink terminal is typically located on the front panel of the installed network: only the front panel is visible. This reduces cable clutter under the network.
More flexibility
The ECoSlink terminal can be used on ECoS and central station®. The CAN bus is distributed passively via the power and start cables, and termination is ensured. The function is transparent to the digital control unit. Since there is no interference in the bus communication, the control unit and connected devices can decide independently whether they will operate together.
