HERFORDER Pils bogie grain wagon, era IV-V, Z scale. AZAR MODELS model with Magnetiz® magnetic coupling, burnished metal axles and high-precision tampo-printed markings.
The HERFORDER Pils grain wagon, era IV-V, faithfully reproduces a silo wagon used for transporting bulk grain and oilseeds on European railways. This Z-scale AZAR MODELS model boasts meticulous construction with a finely painted injection-molded plastic body and high-precision pad-printed markings.
It features the new Magnetiz® coupling system, developed by AZAR MODELS, which uses neodymium micro-magnets to provide a reliable, discreet, and realistic magnetic connection. This system significantly reduces the gap between cars for more aesthetically pleasing and realistic train layouts. Thanks to its clip-on fastening system, the coupling can be easily removed or replaced, ensuring compatibility with the traditional hook couplings included in the box.
The burnished metal axles enhance the model's realism and smooth running. This wagon allows for the creation of credible freight trains for European networks of eras IV and V , a period during which this type of silo wagon was widely used in France, Belgium, Germany, and Italy.
In reality, these bogie hopper wagons have a longitudinal tank with curved sides and several gravity-fed discharge hoppers, facilitating the flow of granulated products to receiving facilities. Widely used since the 1960s and 1970s, they are employed by both agricultural cooperatives and food processing industries.
