The LS Models MW40032 set faithfully reproduces two SNCF USI B10t U61 second-class passenger cars , representative of French passenger rolling stock from Era IV . Over 600 USI (Unified Domestic Service) cars were built between 1962 and 1974 to supplement the UIC fleet and provide numerous passenger services on the SNCF network.
These carriages ran for several decades on regional and mainline trains connecting major French cities. Recognizable by their distinctive body and Y16 bogies , they were very common rolling stock on SNCF passenger trains from the 1970s to the 1990s.
The scale models offered by LS Models feature highly detailed reproduction with complete interior fittings and factory-installed LED interior lighting . The lighting is compatible with both analog and digital operation. The cars are equipped with loop couplings with NEM sockets , allowing for replacement with other coupling systems according to the modeler's preferences.
This set includes two USI coaches with a yellow framed SNCF logo and independent heating , bearing the numbers:
- USI B10t U61 coach – 2nd class – No. 50 87 20-40 618-2 – Y16 bogies
- USI B10t U61 coach – 2nd class – No. 50 87 20-40 592-9 – Y16 bogies
With a length of 290 mm per car , these HO scale (1/87) models fit perfectly into an SNCF passenger train from era IV, alongside other USI, DEV or Corail cars.
