The Herpa 430746-004 model reproduces a Simca 1301 Special at 1:87 scale, presented in a metallic copper finish. This miniature plastic car makes an evocative civilian vehicle for 1/87 scale road and railway dioramas.
The Simca 1301 Special Herpa 430746-004 is a 1:87 scale miniature car, made of plastic and offered in an elegant metallic copper color. It represents a Simca 1301 sedan in its Special version, an iconic vehicle in the French automotive landscape of the second half of the 1960s and the 1970s.
The Simca 1301 belongs to the Simca 1301 and 1501 family, which appeared in 1966 as successors to the Simca 1300 and 1500 launched in 1963. These four-door family cars were designed for daily commutes, intercity travel, and family trips. Their characteristic three-box silhouette, with a clearly defined hood and trunk, is reminiscent of the French sedans that were then very common on the roads, in front of train stations, in residential neighborhoods, and on the outskirts of industrial areas.
The Special finish designates a more premium version within the 1301 range. The metallic copper livery reproduced by Herpa lends a refined presence to this miniature car and allows for a variety of civilian vehicles on a layout. It is particularly well-suited to creating realistic road scenes: city streets, station squares, parking lots, garages, housing estates, or country roads.
At 1:87 scale, this Simca fits perfectly into an H0 model railway environment. It can be placed near a level crossing, in front of a passenger station, in a company parking lot, or in a French urban setting. Its dimensions are well-suited to vehicles and buildings designed for this scale, making it easy to create coherent scenes around railway tracks.
This Herpa model is also intended for collectors of classic miniature cars. The metallic copper Simca 1301 Special is a suitable choice for enriching a collection of 1/87 scale French cars or for giving a credible road identity to a model railway depicting the period when this type of sedan was in use.
