The REE Modèles JM021S locomotive is a diesel locomotive model of the SNCF BB 64079 at HO 1/87 scale. This version depicts the machine in its Arzens orange 435 livery, featuring the so-called “cap” SNCF logo, a hallmark of era V. It is designed for DC 2-rail model railways and includes DCC Sound operation.
Prototype information
The BB 64079 belongs to the large family of BB 63500 locomotives, diesel shunting and local service engines that played a major role in French rail operations. These two-bogie locomotives, recognizable by their central cab flanked by two hoods of different lengths, were suited to operations requiring a compact, versatile locomotive available across many depots.
The BB 63500s provided a wide range of services: shunting in stations and yards, forming freight trains, serving terminal sidings and industrial connections, running on service tracks, and handling light freight convoys.
