Build this wonderful London tram model kit step by step. It will allow you to spend long and enjoyable hours of creative leisure building a faithful replica of the original tram with all the railway details .
This tramway was built in April 1903 by the Electric Railway and Tramway Carriage Works company and was one of 100 "B" class vehicles ordered by the London County Council.
It was used as a passenger vehicle under number 106 until 1925, when it was converted into a snowplow under number 022. 106 was taken in 1983 to the National Tramway Museum in Crich (Derbyshire), where it still stands, having travelled over 10,000 miles in passenger transport service.
It originally had two 25 hp Dick Kerr DK25A engines, which were replaced in 1927 by 42 hp Westinghouse 220 engines. The vehicle is equipped with hand brakes on the wheels and a rheostatic brake acting on the engines. Magnetic brakes were installed in 1980.
