The Roger No. 119 is a 4-4-0 locomotive also known as American locomotives, was built by Locomotive Rogers and Machine Works in Paterson, New Jersey in 1868, with numbers 116, 117, 118 and 120.
the No. 119 was parked in Ogden, Utah, during a call from Thomas C. Durant, traveling to Promontory, alerting a locomotive. Very similar event that hit Leland Stanford and the locomotive Jupiter.
Durant, vice-president of theUnion Pacific Railroad was traveling in the so-called Durant special for the ceremony in Promontory.
A swollen river had dragged some of the bridge's supports Devil's Gate Bridge.
The driver refused to cross the bridge with the locomotive for fear that he would not bear the weight of the locomotive, but agreed to cross the cars.
