With ESU's digital LED interior lighting, you can upgrade your N, TT, or H0 scale passenger cars with uniform, realistic illumination. Two versions are available to suit your desired location.
These digital interior lights are 264 mm long and 9 mm thick, and each features 13 LEDs. In addition to a version with warm white LEDs (50718), a version with yellow LEDs (50719) is also available to ensure the light color always matches your existing car's interior.

Features :

The digital interior lighting consists of a 74 mm long base, on which a digital decoder and four LEDs are mounted, and eight adjacent sections, each equipped with an LED spaced 24 mm apart. These additional sections can be cut to adapt the length to the car.
In addition, two detachable 4.5mm wide LED sections are provided on each side to illuminate the entrance.
The LED brightness can be adjusted either via a potentiometer or software CV, and remains constant regardless of the supply voltage thanks to the integrated constant voltage power supply. An integrated buffer capacitor compensates for minor current interruptions.
To eliminate any flickering, even under low power conditions, a special, highly compact PowerPack supercapacitor (ref. ESU 50710) can be connected directly upon request. It can power the LEDs for a few seconds.

The digital interior lighting is supplied with a soldered red rear light.

Operating modes:

This decoder, based on the LokPilot 5 Basic and adapted for its intended use, supports DCC and Märklin® Motorola® protocols. It handles 2- and 4-digit addresses and can trigger functions up to F31. Thanks to RailComPlus®, registering the decoders with a compatible DCC command station is fully automatic.

It supports all DCC programming modes and, thanks to RailCom®, CV values can be read on the main track with compatible command stations. Auxiliary registers are available for programmable command stations that only support CVs 1 to 255. It is also possible to read the decoder on the programming track without an additional load resistor.

Digital interior lighting can also be used on analog AC and DC systems. In both operating modes, the direction of travel is correctly detected and the rear light illuminates accordingly.

Functions:

The 13 integrated LEDs can be individually controlled, divided into seven groups: the two input LEDs can be switched on separately. The rear light can be controlled independently depending on the direction of travel. In addition, it has an amplified output and two outputs for connecting additional LEDs (for example, for pilot vehicle headlights or restroom lighting), which can be wired individually.

Various realistic lighting effects, such as gradual dimming, neon tube effects, faulty neon tubes, battery lighting, and many more, ensure faithful reproduction. The ESU V5 function allows you to individually assign each group of LEDs to the desired function keys.
