SR24 oil is an absolutely essential accessory for any modeler (e.g., model train enthusiast). The label "model oil" on the packaging is somewhat misleading. In fact, the oil is a cleaning agent, composed of a blend of various slightly viscous mineral oils (no synthetic oil). It is not a lubricating oil at all, but rather an indispensable cleaning product in many applications.
