EPM 41.09.16 set: SNCF TER Haute-Normandie regional reversible RRR trainset in HO scale (1/87). This reproduction of trainset no. 114 is composed of three BDx + ABz + AB vehicles. It reproduces the SNCF's red and stainless steel livery, with the SNCF "noodle" logo and the TER logo, corresponding to eras IVb to V.
SNCF Regional Reversible Trains
Regional Reversible Trainsets (RRRs) are trainsets designed for regional passenger services. Their reversible operating principle allows them to run in both directions without having to turn the entire train around at the terminus: the driving trailer at one end takes over when the locomotive is at the other end of the train. This configuration is particularly well-suited to local and suburban services, characterized by frequent stops and quick changes of direction.
On a miniature network, an RRR provides a silhouette that is very representative of SNCF regional trains from the late 20th century and the early 2000s. It is suitable for reproducing a through station, a regional terminus or an electrified or non-electrified line, depending on the associated locomotive.
The TER Haute-Normandie decoration
The model reproduces a train used on the TER regional rail network in Upper Normandy. Its livery combines red and stainless steel tones, complemented by the SNCF "noodle" logo and the TER logo. This presentation clearly identifies a train dedicated to SNCF regional services during eras IVb and V.
The EPM scale model
Reference EPM 41.09.16 offers a complete RRR trainset in three parts: a BDx driving trailer, an ABz car, and an AB car. The white and red front and rear lights are reversible; the models also feature interior lighting. The front of the driving trailer is equipped with four headlights, as reproduced on trainset no. 114.
Designed for HO scale (1/87) , this train set fits on a 2-rail layout. It is advertised for analog or digital operation. Its three-car configuration allows for the creation of a coherent regional train service, or its integration into a depot, passenger station, or terminus scene.
