Set of 3 OnRail GmbH slatted wagons, loaded with logs, Era VI - Roco 6600318 - H0

The Roco 6600318 set comprises three four-axle Rnoos-type staking wagons, reproduced in HO scale and decorated for OnRail GmbH . Dating from Era VI, these freight wagons are delivered loaded with logs. They form a coherent composition for representing timber transport by rail on a contemporary model railway.

The actual equipment

Stake wagons are open flatcars equipped with vertical side rails. These rails secure long or bulky loads, such as tree trunks, sawn timber, pipes, beams, or certain metal products. Their open floor facilitates loading and unloading by handling equipment.

The Rnoos type designates a flat wagon with bogies intended for transporting long goods. The presence of four axles distributed across two bogies allows for heavy loads while ensuring good curve negotiation. With their loads of logs, the three wagons in this set evoke the transport of forest products between a logging area, a storage platform, a sawmill, or an industrial site using wood as a raw material.

The OnRail decoration

The reproduced livery is that of On Rail GmbH , a German railway company based in Mettmann and active in the leasing, marketing, modernization, and management of freight wagons. The Roco model

Each wagon in the set is a four-axle Rnoos model. All three wagons come with a load of logs, an essential element for immediately recreating the function of the equipment. The models feature a NEM 362- compliant coupler box and a close coupling mechanism. This design allows the use of interchangeable couplers with standardized tails and promotes realistic interaction between wagons in operation.

The set is designed for operation with analog DC on two-rail H0 track. For three-rail AC systems, Roco recommends spare wheel set reference 6560. The total length, including buffers, is 789 mm.
