This new ballast renewal machine from Plasser & Theurer is equipped with two drive options – electric and diesel-electric (hybrid) – using a 600 kW diesel engine. The drive motors and hydraulic system are always electrically driven. The electric drive allows for low-maintenance, quiet, and low-emission operation (reducing CO2 emissions).

The cutting-edge design is primarily focused on function and designed to improve workplace safety. The model is largely a copy of the prototype, both in terms of function and design.

Viessmann innovation:

Selectable operation in driving mode or forward working mode at approximately 1 km/h with a tamping unit that moves vertically and horizontally. Motorized pantograph, various lighting functions. Digital decoder with original sound for electric or diesel engine operation for DCC, MM, and analog DC modes, compatible with RailCom. Tamping unit perfectly synchronized with the drive motors and sound. High-quality, two-part model with a die-cast zinc chassis and two synchronized drive motors ensuring dynamic yet sensitive train operation, supported by integrated current memories.

With NEM 362 accessory coupler pockets and attached coupling system.
