To celebrate 175 years of railways in Switzerland, ROCO presents a special edition Re 10/10 locomotive coupler in an anniversary version. The SBB green locomotives were adorned with decorative stripes and coats of arms.
The double-headed locomotive, comprising a Re 4/4ˡˡ and a Re 6/6, is called the Re 10/10 for simplicity. This name is derived from the ten driving axles of the double-headed locomotive and therefore does not refer to a specific type of locomotive. The Re 10/10s are used almost exclusively by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) hauling heavy freight trains on the Gotthard line. This powerful double-headed locomotive is capable of carrying the maximum prescribed load of 1,400 tonnes at the train's drawbar at 80 kilometers per hour on a gradient of 26 per mille.
