The Märklin 47551 is an H0 scale (1:87) set comprising three Zacns -type tank wagons, each with a capacity of 95 m³. The set represents two private wagons belonging to Ermewa SA and one private wagon belonging to Millet SAS , all registered in Germany and in service around 2009. Classified as belonging to Era VI , this set provides a coherent representation of modern rail freight transport using individual wagons or specialized trainsets.

The three vehicles have different registration numbers and a high-quality print. Each wagon is individually packaged in the box.

The actual equipment

The Zacns is a bogie tank wagon designed for transporting liquid products. Its large tank allows for the transport of bulk goods that do not require individual packaging. This type of wagon is a common sight on contemporary European freight trains, where it operates both as part of complete trainsets and in trains composed of wagons of different classes.

Private tank wagons are operated by companies or rolling stock leasing firms. They can be registered in one country while running on European rail networks, subject to applicable operating conditions. With their distinctive silhouettes, bogie tank wagons bring a very realistic presence to the marshalling yards, industrial facilities, sidings, and freight trains of a modern model railway.

The reproduced decoration

This set combines the markings of two private wagon owners: Ermewa SA and Millet SAS. All three wagons are registered in Germany. The variety of vehicle numbers enhances the set's appeal, allowing for the creation of a believable train without immediate visual repetition.

The Märklin model

The three tank cars are detailed. They are mounted on modern Y25Lsd1 bogies equipped with double shoe brakes. The model includes a brakeman's platform with front access, as well as numerous additional components: brake linkage, drain pipe, dome cover, levers, handrails, and safety hoops.

The protective hoops are made of metal. These details highlight the sleekness of the equipment arranged around the tank and give the wagons a particularly convincing silhouette, both in motion and when stopped in a loading area or on a siding.

The length over buffers of each wagon is 19.6 cm . For use on a two-rail H0 DC system, the required axles are Märklin E700580 .

Use on a miniature network

The Märklin 47551 set is suitable for building freight trains of Era VI. The three wagons can run together in a homogeneous tank train or be used in more varied compositions with other modern freight cars. They fit perfectly behind a freight locomotive suitable for contemporary European operation.

In terms of scenery, these tank cars fit into a variety of railway environments: marshalling yards, freight yards, industrial tracks, liquid terminals, or storage areas. The presence of three distinct registration numbers immediately adds diversity to an H0 scale train.
