This series of ABJ1-ABJ2-ABJ3 railcars, built by Renault between 1935 and 1939, was ordered by the former railway networks, each with specific modifications. Featuring innovative technology and attractive design, these railcars could reach 100 km/h with their 220 kW Renault type 517 engine. They were used for fast, long-distance services. They continued in service under the SNCF until 1976. The more recently built ABJ4 railcars (1948-1949), with the same engine, benefited from improved engine cooling and reached 120 km/h. They were used for regional services and were withdrawn from service in 1977.
Programmed decoder for R37 railcar trailer.
