With this Series 2 of the DU65 railcars, REE reproduces the model in its original state with a small hood at the base of the chimney, a disc headlight, and a red roof (Ref. MB-072). Only about twenty of these locomotives were painted with the red roof; all the others were released with the same features but with a cream roof (Ref. MB-073).
Then the front hood disappears and the disc headlights give way to clip-on headlights (Ref. MB-074).
From the mid-1980s onwards, we see the appearance of the marking with the "noodle" logo (Ref. MB-075)
