You will discover a jewel of the rail modelling with our kit models that will allow you to have a good time and relive the days when these Trains were driving on the roads.

BR 18.4 was founded in the J.A. Maffei workshops in Munich. The first copy was delivered on July 16, 1908. The axles of this locomotive have a "Pacific" configuration with large diameter wheels. It was the largest locomotive built at that time by this manufacturer. It is considered today as "the most beautiful locomotive of the German railways".

The S 3/6 performed well on long-distance routes. In 1951, she towed a 150-t train by 820 km from Hamburg to Munich, stopping only to get water. The letter S refers to the long-distance trains "Schnellzuglokomotiven" and the designation 3/6 represents the number of engine axles in relation to the total number of axles.

This Locomotive was mainly used in Bavaria with long-distance trains, but also towing such famous trains as the Orient Express and Rheingold, the Ostend-Vienna Express or the Paris-Karlsbad-Prague Express. Over time, this locomotive has been the subject of multiple variants that have mainly affected the machinist's cab, boiler and engine mechanisms.
