It had been built by the Alsatian mechanical engineering company of Mulhouse.
These powerful and fast locomotives were very successful, particularly for hauling large express and fast passenger trains , both in Spain and France. Thus, the 231 locomotives were used in France until the 1960s.
This locomotive, also known as La Princesse, represents one of the most glorious chapters in the history of rail transport in France. During their long service life, Pacific-type locomotives hauled some of France's most iconic trains, such as the famous Flèche d'Or .
You will see that you will gradually be able to reproduce a model train faithful to the original Pacific 231 with all the railway details of the machines.
