Almrose magnetic hooks are mechanical coupling devices between vehicles (passenger cars, wagons, self-propelled or railcar elements) with the characteristic of allowing a bipolar electrical connection between the two hooked elements.
The electrical connection allows electricity to be distributed throughout the convoy, limiting the use of power outlets on the axles.
Magnetic hooks are passive, meaning they do not require any electrical current to operate.
Indeed, they exploit the intrinsic attractive force of the magnetic discs located in the coupling housing and made with a Neodymium-based alloy.
