The LokPilot 5 is a true multi-protocol decoder. It supports the DCC data format as well as Motorola®, Selectrix®, and M4. In DCC format, 14 to 128 speed steps are as intuitive as 2- and 4-digit addresses, and up to 32 functions are supported. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders connect to a suitable digital command station fully automatically.
It supports all DCC programming modes and, thanks to RailCom®, CV values on the main track can be read with compatible control units. Auxiliary registers are available for control units that can only program CVs from 1 to 255.
Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed levels with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses enable 16 functions. A built-in programming mode also allows reprogramming with the venerable 6021 Control Unit.
The M4 protocol allows automatic registration in compatible mfx® control centers. All 32 possible function keys are available here.
The LokPilot 5 decoder recognizes Märklin® braking distances as well as ZIMO® HLU/ZACK controls or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or DC voltage is also possible. It can also stop with a Selectrix® brake diode. An automatic ABC shuttle train allows for automatic movement between two stations.
The LokPilot 5 decoder can be used on both DC and AC analog railways. The decoder automatically switches between operating modes on the fly. Generally, no adjustments are required.
Features :
We know you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. Therefore, we've packed the LokPilot 5 with function outputs. Depending on the interface version, each LokPilot 5 decoder offers at least 10 amplified function outputs, each with an output current of 250 mA. In versions with the PluX22 or 21MTC interface, 4 additional outputs are included for controlling servos or logic level outputs. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted independently. The decoder supports automatic pressing and unpressing when disconnecting ROCO®, Krois®, and Telex® couplers.
Motor Control:
The LokPilot 5's motor control has been fundamentally improved. An adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures ultra-quiet operation, especially with bell-type motors – the typical "buzz" is a thing of the past. Load control can now be adapted to demanding applications with up to 10 hp. The unique "Autotune" function allows the decoder to automatically calibrate itself to the motor. With a motor current of up to 1.5 A, the LokPilot 5 decoder provides ample power, even for older motors.
Upon request, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 to fill dirty rail sections.
Of course, all function outputs and the motor output are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
