While LokPilot 5 decoders can undoubtedly meet all imaginable requirements of the most demanding experts, many model railway eras are looking for a robust, high-quality DCC decoder for their standard requirements, which should also be affordable.
The LokPilot 5 Basic was developed with the aim of offering a modern decoder with a classic range of functions at a reasonable price.
The LokPilot 5 Basic is available in two versions: In addition to a version with an 8-pin NEM interface, a version with a 21MTC interface is also available. This makes the LokPilot 5 Basic particularly suitable for use in H0 locomotives.
Modes:
The LokPilot 5 Basic is a purebred DCC decoder. 14 to 128 driving steps are as straightforward as 2- and 4-digit addresses. Up to 20 functions can be activated. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders connect fully automatically to a suitable digital control unit.
It supports all DCC programming modes, and thanks to RailCom®, CV values can be read on the main track using appropriate control panels. Auxiliary registers are available for control panels that can only program CVs from 1 to 255.
The LokPilot 5 Basic decoder detects Märklin® braking distances as well as the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake shoes or DC power is also possible. The LokPilot 5 Basic decoder can be used with analog DC cables. The maximum speed can be set independently. The decoder switches between operating modes fully automatically and on the fly. Most of the time, no adjustments are necessary.
Functions:
The LokPilot 5 Basic features four enhanced function outputs in each version. The 21MTC interface offers eight logic-level outputs, two of which are also suitable for servo control. All essential lighting functions are available, and the brightness of each output can be adjusted independently.
Engine :
The LokPilot 5 Basic's motor control delivers up to 0.9A of DC current. A variable PWM clock frequency from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures ultra-quiet operation, especially for bell-anchoring motors – the typical "buzz" is a thing of the past. Load control can be adapted for demanding applications with up to 10 HP. The unique "Autotune" function automatically adjusts the decoder to match the motor.
Operational reliability:
Upon request, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 Basic to bridge gaps in dirty rail.
Of course, all function outputs as well as the motor output are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
